Week 43: New Companion, Paul “ pablito “ from Gresham, Oregon, Lost cell phone, and Elder Kendall and his Mom!

Hola familia y amigos!

This week was pretty crazy Tuesday I got my new companion Elder Cabral(yes mom a picture will be coming) he's an awesome guy he's from Brazil and has like 6 months in the mission so we're both working on our Spanish together!   Wednesday  was tough, we went out and just started knocking doors, contacted for like 4-5 hours and nothing happened, but then out of nowhere we find a gringo(white guy) washing his car. We go over and talk to him and his name is Paul and he's from Gresham Oregon! It was really funny to meet someone from Oregon down here in Leticia, he lives here with his wife and they teach English. We are going to try and teach them and have lunch with them this next week.

Then Thursday our phone fell out of my pocket on the bus so now we don't have a phone, that was rough. Then Friday was pretty rough too, every single leccion that we had fell through, we literally just walked around and contacted and nothing really came out of that. Then Saturday was better, I did my first district meeting, that went pretty well. As district leader I just do a district meeting and collect numbers that's basically my job! It's easy when the other elders in your district are your neighbors!

Then something really funny happened Saturday, walking home after a leccion in the center of town and this two gringos are walking towards us and we talk to them and it was an Elder who served here about a year ago. It was Elder Kendal traveling with  his mom to visit areas he had served, it was really cool talking with them they're really good people. Then Sunday was good, a little rough too because Luiz is going to have surgery this week so he won't be able to be baptized this week.  He said after the surgery the first Saturday that he's available he's going to get baptized! Then today we tried to make donuts with Hna Mercedez, the other elders and elder Kendal and his mom.....that didn't work too well and all the should have been donuts are going to be converted into a cake tonight! haha.

This week was for sure one of the harder weeks that I've had in the mission but it's alright, without the hard times we wouldn't be able to know the good times! I love and miss you all I hope you're all doing well! Have a great week and just remember that Christ lives and he loves you!
