Week 35: President came and that’s about it!
Hola familia y amigos!
Wow this week went by really fast, or maybe it's because I wrote just last Thursday, really since then nothing big happened. Friday we worked hard and had some good lecciones, Saturday we randomly found out our Mission president was coming, so we had interviews and talked with him, that was awesome, President and Hermana Baquerizo are awesome. Then Sunday we had church, had lots of investigators there it was great! Then we had a leccion at the rehab center and then we walked all the way home because there wasn't any more buses. Then today we played some futbol and basketball, bought some bread and then just chilled... that's really all that happened, love and miss you guys I hope you're all doing well! Love you guys have a great week!

Week 34: Colombia Directions
Hola familia y amigos!
This week was pretty fun! Sorry I'm writing a little late it was a
"Lunes Festivo" here in Colombia so everyone was outside drinking and
all the internets were closed! I don't have a lot of time so I'm just going to do a fast run through.
We're having a lot of success at the Rehab center! We're teaching the
Director David Porras and he's a great guy! He is reading the Book of
Mormon and he's letting us teach the lecciones to his patients, and he's also
coming to church with us this Sunday! Then we have an investigator named Carolina Curico and she's a stud! We told her that if she read and prayed about the Book of Mormon she'd recieve her answer...and she did! She told us she prayed specifically about something randomly opened the BOM and the verse answered her question! She's going to be baptized on the 14th of April!
That was about it, I taught an English class and then on Sunday I lead the music and gave a talk which was pretty fun! Also the zone leaders came down here and we had some intercambios, it rained really hard and our house kind of flooded because we're missing a window. haha! Love and miss you guys hope you're all doing well, I hope wherever you are it's not as hot as it is here in Leticia!

Week 33: Mojojoi Worms, Sevice, Futbol, Miguel Chota, and Elections
Hola Familia y amigos!
This week went by super fast and it was a really good week. First thing that happened is on Monday night I ate a giant live amazon jungle worm called Mojojoi, it wasn't awful but it wasn´t tasty either. Then Tuesday we had a cool leccion with a Director of a rehab facility, he's a great guy and we have some times set to pass for him this week. It was pretty weird though we taught him in his facility and he was dressed in an all white lab coat and he looked like he was straight out of a horror movie! Then Wednesday we helped a family move in the morning and then we played futbol with our investigators at night. Its awesome because all the members show up and play with the investigators and they are all becoming friends! It was really fun, it happens every Wednesday and the plan is to bring more investigators every Wednesday! Then Thursday was just a long hard day without a whole lot of success but hey it happens. Then Friday I had an intercambio with Elder Jeppson, we had to go do some migration thing so that we don't get put in jail for being here and that took like 3 hours. Then Saturday was awesome, we had the baptism of Miguel Chota, he's the uncle of the branch president here and so his nephew baptized him and it was amazing! Afterwards Miguel gave an amazing testimony about how he knows this is the true church and he was so glad to find it in this lifetime and to find it with his family. It was really powerful and the spirit was super strong! Then Sunday was insane, we had the confirmation of Miguel and also Family Diaz who were baptized last week, but after that it was election day here in Colombia, no one was at church and no one was in there houses! They were all voting and then listening to the results, it was a pretty hard day, no one would listen to us. Then today was cool, played some soccer, then we ate some really good donuts. After that we really just relaxed, we're going to eat more Mojojoi tonight, Elder Jeppson and I are calling it Mojojoi Monday! Love and miss you guys, hope you're all doing well!!

Week 32: A marriage, a bench press, and a giant bug named Nelson.
Hola familia y amigos!
This week went by super fast and it was super crazy and super hot.
Tuesday was awesome, our investigadores Dionicio and Wendy got
married! They got married in the church at 4 pm and then had a party
at 7pm,and they had cake at the party. They realized they didn't have a knife to
cut the cake so I ran back to the house and carried a giant knife to
the church in a plastic bag!haha. It was awesome, they were all so happy.
Then Wednesday was just a whole lot of knocking doors, we had some success but we really just ended up walking all over. Then Thursday was cool, we were contacting and I saw this guy with a make shift bench press, so my comp and I went over, asked if I could bench and then contacted with this 20 year old guy and his girlfriend about the word of wisdom and we have a date to go back and teach them! Definitely one of the most fun ways i've contacted in the mission. Then Friday I had an Intercambio with Elder Manay which was alright, all our lecciones fell through so we ended up walking around a lot but we ended up having one really good leccion with a young kid that seemed pretty interested. Then Saturday was insane. First off we find this absolutely huge insect that looks like it should have died with the Dinos but is here in the Amazon rainforest and we named it Nelson(I'lltry and send a picture). We had the baptisms of Dionicio and his family planned but we get a call at 9 in the morning that there isn't any water in the church, short story short we literally ran around all day trying to fix it, we even went to the firefighters here and asked if they could fill it for us, we were going to have them do it until we got a call that the branch president had fixed the problem! We ended up being able to have the bapstisms and it was awesome! Later that night we found out that Wendy's Dad died the night before and that they almost were not going to be able to make it, so that was really sad. Then Sunday came and we get to church and Dionicio and Wendy weren't there, so they didn't get confirmed. They showed up after sacrament meeting because they had some problems with people trying to take some of Wendy's Dads stuff and the police showed up. They're going through a really had time right now but their testimonies are super strong and they're going to get confirmed this Sunday!
Then today we got up, played some futbol and Basketball, then we had this less active kid cut our hair, trying to get him active again. Then we went to Brasil to find this stuff called ECCO which is called Mormon Coffee because it tastes just like coffee but doesn't have any caffeine in it. We also sat in a bank for like an hour to pay a light bill! That was about it for this week, it is extremely hot here in Leticia it's like over 90 every day and it's super humid, but I love it so far! Also later tonight we're going to buy a giant worm called Mojojoi and eat it alive which sounds pretty fun I'll make sure to get a video of that for you guys! Love and miss you guys hope
you're all doing great!!

Week 31: CALI knows how to party!
Hola Familia y amigos!
This week was insane. Tuesday and Wednesday I was stuck in an area in Bogota called Fontibon with the other missionary who was going to Leticia with me, his name is Elder Jeppsen he's really cool. We just chilled there, went out and worked with the missionaries but mostly we just kept repacking our bags and playing cards. On Wednesday I got to go see Elder Araujo ( my trainer)before he finished his mission, that was awesome!!
Thursday came, the day of our flight, we get up go to the airport and wait a bit. We get on the plane and start our flight to Leticia and it's only like a 2 hour flight, first over the intercom we hear that there is a medical situation on the plane and they need a doctor, that all got under control. Then right when we're about to land they say over the interco that there is storm in Leticia right now so we can't land so we have to go to Cali. Cali is not in our mission, it's a completely different mission, so we flew back to Cali waited in the Cali airport for like an hour and a half. We called the Presidente to tell him we're in Cali(that was funny) then we got on another plane to Leticia and we were able to land this time.
Leticia is insane, it's literally the Amazon rainforest, our area has the amazon river in it. My new Comp is Elder Caqui from Peru, he's awesome his first comp was Elder Gregersen. We had a baptism on Saturday of one of the investigators Audi Moreno, that was awesome she's a great lady. The Church building here is literally right on the border of Brazil and Colombia. It is cool because on Sunday there is a branch from Brazil so there are missionaries from Brazil there and everyone speaks Portuguese which is weird because I can't understand anything. Then after church we went and had a leccion at a drug rehab center and that was really cool, the guys there are all really young and want to change their lifes, we're going to go every Sunday.
Then today we cleaned the house because it was disgusting, that took up all morning. Then we went to Brazil and bought chocolate, and little wooden things that are made of this really rare famous red wood from Brazil. I never thought I would go to another country on my mission but I did! That's about it, it's really hot here but I'll get used to it. Love and miss you guys, hope you're all doing well!

p.s. The computers here suck so I'm going to try and get fotos through
but we'll have to see!
